In-Game Rules

This set of guidelines mostly applies to in-game behavior.

Rule Zero

Staff word is final. These rules are an outline for how player behavior is expected to be. Loopholing is not acceptable, and arguing with staff on the matter of the rules will be treated as an additional offense. If a staff member says to drop a conversation, then it is to be dropped. If you are contacted by an admin, you are expected to communicate clearly and in good will. If you have any doubts, ahelp.

Be respectful Out of Character.

Bigotry of any sort (homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.) will not be tolerated out of character. Discrimination on religious grounds is still not tolerated. ICly being against “furries” is taken as an OOC attack. Do not bring other servers’ drama here. We don’t want issues with anybody - if you have issues with a server, then you should approach them about it. Not us. Bigoted language, such as the words “nigger” or “faggot,” will result in an immediate ban without consideration for context. If IC attacks are clearly out of character, such as ones against a character’s competence, then they may be treated as such. Do not evade bans using multiple accounts. Do not advertise anything without headmin permission. If you have any doubts, ahelp.

RP Standards

You are expected to play a character. While RP labels are vague and no definitions are universally accepted, we expect players to be M/HRP. You are expected to be in-character at all times. You are also expected to play your job until you are no longer capable. No netspeak or emoji are allowed. Your character must be reasonable. Characters should fit the game setting and have an appropriate name (once loreguide is officially ready) Characters should try to seek comfort and avoid pain and death. Your character should not know things they would not reasonably have knowledge of (no metagaming, please) Characters must not use metaconcepts such as “chat logs” or “rounds.” Every round should be referred to as a “day.” Do not play characters that are, or behave like, minors (under 18 or equivalent) Any voice chats during the round with other players should be kept to our discord. Metagaming rules apply. People typically care a lot about their character. We’re here for the sake of playing our characters, in fact. Removing somebody from the round is frowned upon and requires significant RP buildup. If you have any doubts, ahelp. Keep aggression levels to a reasonable amount, do not use mental illness or racism as an excuse. No fictional slurs based on real-world slurs or using ingame terminology to relate to real world minorities. Interspecies racism is allowed to an extent, as stereotypes are bound to exist, but needs to be kept within reason as it is in-character. Do not use this as an excuse to grief. If you have any doubts, ahelp. Ships belong to their respective factions, and are to be played as such. Outposts are faction-neutral grounds and violent conflicts are not allowed at them, with the exception of frontiersmen and admin events. Do not comment on others play in OOC; ahelp if you have any concerns. Do not rejoin the round as the same character without admin permission. If you have any doubts, ahelp.

Cryo and SSD rules

Do not cryo SSD player characters Lay them down in a bed or put them in a closet. You may, of course, cryo yourself if you wish to exit the round. Prisoners who request to be put in cryo should be put in cryo. If you are not a part of a ship’s crew, do not interact with or approach player characters who are exiting cryo. If you are hostile to a ship, ignore player characters who are joining the round. Player characters should not be threatened as they are leaving the cryo chamber or dorms after joining the game. The cryo chamber is separate from dorms and should always be ignored completely by hostile forces. Do not use the cryo chamber as a tool against hostiles. No combat or threats are allowed in the cryo room whatsoever. Medical aid may be provided to SSD player characterss. If you have any doubts, ahelp.

SFW Status

We are not an ERP server, put it back in your pants. Anything more sexual than kissing or cuddling is ERP. Despite this, we still want to keep our server to ages 18 or older. We’re not going to check your age, but if we find out, we may ask you to leave the server until you’re older. If you have any doubts, ahelp.

PVP Rules

There are no “valid” roles outside of Frontiersmen, which are admin event only. Escalation rules apply. If things resort to violence, you should be able to point out to an admin how things got to that point. Try not to round remove. If you have any doubts, ahelp it. Play event roles responsibly. You are there to make the round fun for everyone, and the enjoyment of other players needs to be considered more than normal when you are trusted with an event role. Event roles aren’t necessarily played to lose, however. You are still allowed to win, just don’t be a dick. Do not round remove another player character when you are an event role. That said, event roles may be round removed. No round removals within the first hour of the round. Corpses that can be revived should not be left unattended (without good reason) for over an hour. Discord Rules

This set of guidelines mostly applies to our Discord server.

Staff Interactions

Staff word is final. If the staff says a conversation is over, it’s over. Don’t push it. Do not block staff, as it is important for them to be able to reach you in case of anything. Staff word is final.

Be respectful OOC.

Bigotry of any sort (sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.) will not be tolerated. Religion may not be used as an excuse for this behavior. Keep things in their respective channels.

SFW Status

Users must be 18 years or older. We’re not going to check your age, but if we find out, we won’t be happy. No NSFW. Put it back in your pants, mate, we don’t want to see it.

In-Character Knowledge

The discord is not a valid way for your character to gain any information about others, and nothing presented on the discord is to be considered in character until it is revealed to them. The Discord and the Wiki do not exist in-character, though most of the lore on the wiki can be found on the Holonet. See the metaknowledge rule mentioned above.

Staff Rules

These rules need to be followed by members of the staff:

You must enforce the rules. You are not exempt from the rules.

Question all involved parties before delivering consequences.

Suspects are to be frozen or put in admin jail during questioning as to prevent further offenses.

You must remain up to date with staff policies and guidelines.

Remain positive in your role. You represent the team and community.

Respect confidentiality. You may not discuss administrative actions or share staff notes in public spaces without headmin permission.

Staff actions are only to be carried out through official channels.

Events are not to be run without due consideration from headmins or a vote. We want everybody to have fun, after all.

Do not use staff powers to give yourself unnecessary advantages.

New staff are to be made trial admins for 2 months before being promoted to full staff.
